Many nurseries and childminders are happy and enthusiastic about accepting real nappy wearing babies and toddlers in their care. This is a great help to parents who have opted for using real nappies.

When you are working full time, over half of nappy changes may be done by childcare staff; their support enables you to make real choices about how your child is looked after.

Some nurseries are not so helpful however and this is discouraging; some give up their legitimate choice to help the environment, save themselves money and have a natural product next to their baby's delicate skin.

Bradford Real Nappy Project's Real Nappy Friendly - Positive Cloth Policy seeks to inform parents; acknowledge and encourage childcare providers who are positive about real nappies; to raise awareness, support and inform other nurseries and childminders about how easy it is to use real nappies at their premises; and to develop systems and provide training where requested to enable more nurseries to provide this choice for parents.
