Tree Planting 2020
We’ve got the following events coming up, some in conjunction with the Baildon Tree Partnership. We are helping to create a White Rose Forest and increase tree cover by a third.
Please note: if the ground is likely to be frozen then planting will be cancelled 24 hours before. If in doubt, please check our Twitter & Facebook channels.
And there will be more events. The best way to stay in touch is our Facebook community of volunteers and the monthly email annoucement.
The tree planting Low Wood Scout Centre is in partnership with Trees for Cities. The new trees will be planted thanks to funding from energy firm npower who plant a tree with Trees for Cities for every customer that signs up to the Go Green tariff and is on the tariff for at least 90 days.
Increasingley we are opting to “overplant” instead of using plastic tree-guards. And where we absolutely have to protect the trees from deer or rabbits we’re re-using old tubes, sourcing and harvesting coppiced hazel stakes and using jute ties.
