ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENCY AUDITS: COMMUNITY BUILDINGS PROGRAMME
FUNDED BY SHIPLEY AREA COMMITTEE

We have now closed this scheme for new applicants.

Do you manage a community building within the Shipley Area?

Last training day  - Next steps Wed 19th March 9.30 to 1 in Bingley - contact BEAT for details.

This is a FREE programme enabling you to:

·        Save money - reduce your bills

·        Save energy and water

·        Save the environment

The Shipley Area includes the following six Wards: Wharfedale, Windhill and Wrose,  Bingley, Bingley Rural, Baildon and Shipley.

The Programme offers:

·        A free energy audit for your community building, providing a base line.

·        ‘Quick-win’ energy reduction improvements. Areas to be looked at include water saving devices, reducing use of energy used for heating and lighting, and more.

Work could be up to the value of £500.

·        Two training events will ensure you are able to understand the issues and carry on benefiting from the savings in the future.

·        Knowledge of Best Practice to pass on to others in the community.

·        Improved comfort for your Centre users.

There will be a selection process, therefore we will need:

·        A list of the groups that use your building,

·        A named person to liaise with in the building.

·        An ability and willingness to have any agreed work done by the end of March 2008. Work carried out could include insulation, draft proofing, meter installation, and water conservation measures. This includes having permission to do this work if you don’t own the building.

·        Willingness to be part of an evaluation process after one year.
