Warm Homes Healthy People

The Warm Homes Healthy People partnership consists of over a dozen Bradford based third sector organisations working with Bradford Council to support vulnerable residents through the winter months. BEAT is working to raise awareness and deliver practical support related to affordable, energy efficient homes which keep people safe, healthy and save them money.

BEAT offers FREE training, talks and support at events for community and voluntary groups across Bradford and district.

Home energy efficiency visits for vulnerable residents can save people money, ensure householders are getting all the available practical support to make homes as efficient as possible, and reduce the risks of hospital admissions this winter.

  • We help residents switch to the right energy deal, typical savings of £2-300 for households who haven’t changed energy tariffs recently.
  • We help residents apply for the £140 Warm Home Discount, available from all the large electricity suppliers.
  • BEAT offer sensible advice and practical help to ensure households can save energy, save money and live in more comfortable, warmer homes.

Most importantly we want to help support residents who have long term health issues such as cardio-vascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, who are living with disabilities or poor mobility, recovering from major surgery or mental health problems.

BEAT works in partnership with Bradford Council, Carers Resource - First4Contact, Age UK, Hale Project, Family Action, Groundwork, InnChurches and West Yorkshire Fire Services to tackle issues faced by people over the winter months - keeping healthy, eating well, staying warm, managing energy bills, staying active in the community.
