Volunteer for the Bradford Real Nappy Project

We rely very strongly on a great team of volunteers to do talks and promotions. Most of our work is within the Bradford District.

Things you can do with the project

  • Talk to your friends about real nappies
  • Do ante-natal and other talks - full training is given
  • Help at events
  • Help make up nappy kits
  • Support parents who have just started using real nappies
  • Put up posters and take leaflets anywhere that parents meet
  • Give us new ideas of how to promote nappies in the Bradford Area - and help us with doing it!

Rosie co-ordinates the volunteer team. Please use the contact form to get in touch.

Volunteer with the Forest of Bradford

Forest of Bradford runs 2 – 3 practical conservation volunteer day opportunities per week. Wednesday and Friday 9:30 - 3:00 each week we have a minibus to transport volunteers to the work site. A range of tasks including tree planting, dry stone walling, hedge laying and charcoal production are carried out. During the winter period Nov – Mar we are tree planting on most Saturday’s 10:00 – 3:00 ( see Planting Dates Page for details ). No previous experience is required for the above, bring packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing.

There are also some opportunities for project development / support, fund raising and project promotion. Please contact the project manager for details of these opportunities.

We like to provide our volunteers with valuable practical experience that will develop their skills and broaden their employment opportunities. We have supported many students through their NVQ I & II in Environmental Conservation. We have also provided undergraduate and postgraduate placements to students from local Universities. We are proud that eight of our long-term volunteers have gone on to secure paid employment in the environment sector.
